A Traveler from St. Thomas, USVI Sailing date: Sep 2012Pros: The Destination Cons: Schedule/loosing a port The ship, and it's crew were great. We sailed Carnival Spirits' last Alaskan cruise. No complaints about the ship. Clean, nice rooms, and lots to do. Ship Quality

Children's ProgramsWe have a 2year old that participated in Cub Carnival (the ship's childcare). What a blessing! She lived it and the staff was amazing. Really allowed me, as a single mother to finaly get a real break:) 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  really great cruise by
Ingrid H. from Curacao, Dutch Antilles Sailing date: May 2012Pros: the views Cons: cold food in dining room overal great experience. staff super friendly and willing to assist with whatever you need.
best food on upper deck. dining room's food was mostly not warm, sometimes just really cold, like still frozen shrimps.
but the staff, also in the dining room, was friendly and did all they could for us.
we loved the views and would recommend the trip to anyone who loves nature views. Ship Qualityclean, accessible to all. not to big, so you keep meeting people over and over and have a chat. public areas are clean and everyone is nice and friendly. Dining/Foodfood on upper deck very good and lots of variety. food in dining room is less. Stateroom Qualityvery confortable and clean. enough space to store your things away. Ship Staff Qualityas stated, great service and friendlyness. Entertainment & Activitieswhatever your choice, you can enjoy the whole day round. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  The Spirit in Alaska by
John M from DC Sailing date: May 2012Pros: Glacier Bay was stunning - a bucket list event and do it on Spirit Cons: Only major issue is smokers (Choked us off our balcony, casino, and covered pool), and minor, but iratating nit was no sprimp cocktail at dinner, First 4 cruises were Conquest class in Carribean, the Spirit was smaller, yet I liked it better, more intimate and less crowded feeling. Like the Serinity area. Wonderful laid back time. On May 1st cruise out of Vancouver. Early seating at table 159. Yolanda, Rene, and Gede were excellent hosts at dinner. They should be best in class again for May. And the shows were a blast. Shout out to Jaques Rene for excellent entertainment. Dancers and singers were best that we have seen. Having the Park Rangers come on board for the Glacier Bay tour was informative and entertaining. Ship QualityThe ship is smaller, yet feels less crowded. Good layout. Only real squawk is the windows were not cleaned before leaving port. Even if it means another 45 minutes, Captain clean the windows for Alaska. Dining/FoodEnjoyed all of our meals. Diverse and pleasing fare. As mentioned above, the dissappearing shrimp at dinner was a disappointment. We cruise to be pampered and well fed - bring back the shrimp. Stateroom QualityStandard fare for balcony and we always like the balcony views. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was helpful and courteous. Entertainment & ActivitiesBest we have seen on 5 cruises. All the shows were fun, Jacques Rene was great, the dancers and singers (all four) were good vocal talents. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Best vacation ever thus far! by
John L from Detroit, MI Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Best hospitality Cons: Start time for shows usually were very late in the evening or during dinner The crew was super friendly, and the dinning staff remembered our names as well. Food was very good, but needed a just a tad more selection. The general dinning area was hit and miss sometimes, but the steakhouse (although an extra charge) was well worth it! My wife did not like the bed (said it was too thin), but I did. Hot tubs were monopolized for hours by groups of people because the water temperature was just right (hard to get in). The only hot tub that I was able to get into regularly was in the fitness center, but would have rather been in an outdoor hot tub. Ship QualityVery clean ship and very fun - lots to do! Dining/FoodBuffet hours closed super early - like 3 pm on most days). A little more variation was needed. Some of the food was not good regularly, like the Chinese buffet. Pizza buffet was slow to get someone to help you (guy was always in the back) and the sandwich place had language barriers that always lead to the wrong order. Steakhouse, at an extra charge, was well worth it. Dinning room had excellent food, although some dishes on different evening were not as good. Stateroom QualityRooms were big and comfortable. Had everything you would need - safe, plenty of towels, robes, ice, fridge, tv, etc. Ship Staff QualityMost friendly I have seen anywhere! Cleaned rooms like 3 times a day. Make animal figures out by folding towels every night and placed on the bed (looked forward to it). Entertainment & ActivitiesComedy shows were very late in the evening (like 11:30 pm) or during your scheduled dinner hour. On a night before an offshore excursion, 11:30 pm is way too late to even think about going to a show. We wanted to see so many shows but the scheduling was so off. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

9 Day Mexican Rivera Cruise - Great Time by
A Traveler from Dallas TX Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: service, Cabo, PV Cons: decorations of ship, food choices, median age of cruisers Great cruise, loved the ports of PV and Cabo. Loved the excursion in LaPaz - cooking class. Wished the median age was a bit younger on this 9 day cruise, seemed all nightly activities after 11p were not well attended as everyone went to bed early. Ship QualityDecorations were a dated. Dining/FoodAs good as ship food can get. Stateroom QualityBalcony stateroom was very good Ship Staff QualityEveryone is very friendly. Entertainment & ActivitiesLoved Cruise Director Jen and her entire staff.

  What a Disappointment! by
Bill M. from Corpus Christi, TX Sailing date: Nov 2010Pros: Water, ice and hot chocolate available Cons: Food, service, not informative, staff not friendly Couldn't wait for cruise to end. Everything sub-standard at best. Ship QualityDidn't like walking through casino or lounge smelling smoke to get to another part of the ship. Dining/FoodHad a hard time finding anythihg on dining menu I liked as side dishes or sauces were a little weird. Although meat portions were ample. Stateroom QualityPaid for a balcony room which should have been listed as a partially obstructed view room. Had to ask to have mini-bar unlocked then to find it locked again a few days later. Bed was extremely hard. Small stateroom overall. Ship Staff QualityOur head waiter at dinner was the only friendly person with any abilities to please. Most staff just walked on by except for the spa staff. Entertainment & ActivitiesOnly 2 or 3 of the nighttime musical shows were any good. The last night's singer was terrible, we walked out. And what's the deal with X-rated comedians? Daytime activities seemed geared more towards children or young adults.
