2nd time was a charm!
by Tonya R. from Wichita, KS
Sailing date:
May 2008
Pros:
Super friendly staff!
Cons:
Lines at buffet
This was my second cruise, and it was a great experience! The first cruise experience I had was awful (on a different carrier), but Carnival was great! The entire staff was warm and friendly. The ship was extemely clean and well-kept. The entertainment was spectacular! I would recommend to anyone who is looking for quiet/intimate formal dining to NOT sign up for the late seating, as I heard from experienced cruisers that this seating time catered to the more raucous crowd. Thank you Carnival for a wonderful time!

At all times, there were staff cleaning rooms, walls, public areas. The cleanliness of the ship was impressive.

Fun but noisy
by A Traveler from Chicago IL
Sailing date:

Pros:
Lido deck - excursion
Cons:
U18 and the food
First-time cruiser. Staff aboard the Fascination were awesome! Very friendly, very helpful and kind. Enjoyed the pool area where it was not hard to find a lounge chair and relax. The food was not as good as I expected. More like an Old Country Buffet experience, even in the main dining room (Imagination). Steaks were dry and overcooked. My dish the first night wasn't hot. Difficult to get a drink because a different waiter had to be called to the table - the head waiter doesn't bring drinks. Cabins were very nice. The comforter and pillows are outstanding!! Some advice - do NOT book a room near the front of the boat! We had U18 and were awoken every morning (5-6 AM) to massive engine noise as the boat docked or left port. Closet doors rattled violently, bathroom door swung about, items walked across the desk. And it's not over quickly. Lastly, maintenance work began on the ship at 7:30 AM - we were awoken to the banging of metal hammer on metal railings. Again, went on for quite a while. Overall, not too bad. But needed a nap when we got home.

Amazing experience
by Carlos B from Miami,Fl
Sailing date:
Dec 2007
Pros:
The late night shows
Cons:
Flashy decor in some areas
It was my first cruise and after reading some of the reviews I went to the ship with an open mind ( I like making my own judgement about things regardless of other people's opinion)The embarking process was a little too long (50 mins) but I guess when you consider the size of the ship and the number of passengers, it was standard. The crowd was mostly young people (20's-40's) not a lot of small children. Once inside I was quite surprised by the size of the cabins ( I got ocean view with two twin beds) very comfortable. In general, food was ok but for the late dinning it was delicious. The entertainment was top notch. I have been to Vegas and N.Y and the shows are as good as any in those cities. There are plenty of activities on the ship so you never get bored. In Mexico I did the Jungle Explorer excursion (biking, snorkling, zip line) and it was a lot of fun. Overall a great experience and I can't wait to go back on a cruise again.

Wonderful experience!
by Jorge S from Guatemala
Sailing date:
Nov 2006
Pros:
The food and the entertainment
Cons:
time spent in all ports
I think the ship and the personnel are very nice, the food WOW, no words, I ate so much and everything was delicious. i went with my wife on our third honey moon, and it worth any moment inside the ship and outside of it. We visited Key west on the first day, and was terrific, the old town and its houses. You cant miss the pirates museum, it is very nice!!. The second day was in Mexico, Cozumel isle, and we visited the Mayan ruins, very very nice!!, I still dont know how can they did build that tremendous and spectacular cities, we could swim in the beach near the ruins and the ocean was very clear and seems pure. The day we spent on the see, was nice too. The shows, phenomenal!!, and we took 645 pictures on the trip, wow. So dont miss it if you could go on!! Thanks
